“This Will Lead to War” – TikToker Peller Cries Out Over ₦100 Million Real Estate Scam

Popular TikTok influencer, Peller, has raised an alarm over what he described as a ₦100 million real estate scam, warning that if the issue is not addressed, “it could lead to war.”

Peller, known for his skits and motivational content, took to social media to share the heartbreaking experience of a close friend who reportedly lost over ₦100 million in a fake property deal.

According to Peller, the victim was introduced to a luxury real estate company in Lagos through a trusted agent. He was shown pictures and videos of a fully built duplex in a gated estate, and after weeks of back-and-forth negotiations, he made a full payment.

“It’s not like he didn’t try to verify. He even visited the site once. But they used actors and fake documents. Now the land is not even for sale, and the so-called estate office has disappeared,” Peller said in his video.

The Dark Side of Nigeria’s Booming Real Estate Market

Nigeria’s real estate sector is booming, with many people seeing it as the fastest way to build wealth. Unfortunately, scammers are also using the opportunity to target innocent investors and first-time buyers.

Fake land agents, cloned documents, and false estate advertisements are now common. Some victims pay millions only to find out the land was already sold, under government acquisition, or doesn't even exist.

Peller’s viral video has sparked national attention, with hundreds of other Nigerians sharing their own experiences in the comment section.

“I lost ₦5 million last year to a similar scam in Ibadan.”

“They almost got me too. They showed me photoshopped C of O.”

“Thank you for speaking out, Peller. We need to fight this.”

How to Protect Yourself From Real Estate Scams

To avoid falling victim like Peller’s friend, here are 5 tips to protect yourself before buying any land or property in Nigeria:

1. Never Pay Without Legal Verification

Always involve a lawyer and verify ownership at the land registry.

2. Visit the Property More Than Once

Go at different times of the day. Meet the supposed owners in person.

3. Request Original Documents

Don't accept copies or screenshots. Confirm with the appropriate authorities.

4. Avoid Buying From Social Media Agents Only

Many scams begin from Instagram or TikTok property pages.

5. Do Background Checks

Ask around. Use Nairaland, Facebook groups, or property forums to check reviews.

Nigerians Are Tired – “We Are Already Struggling”

Peller also noted that it’s becoming too difficult to survive in the country, and people can't afford to lose their life savings to scams.

“We are already struggling with fuel prices, food cost, and school fees. Imagine adding a ₦100 million loss on top of that. If government no act fast, this thing fit turn wahala.”

Many fans praised Peller for using his platform to raise awareness. Several comments called for EFCC and government housing regulators to take action against fraudulent real estate agents and developers.

Real Estate is Still a Great Investment – But Be Smart!

Despite the risks, real estate remains one of the most profitable investments in Nigeria. In cities like Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt, property prices are increasing yearly. But only smart investors win — those who do the right checks, work with trusted developers, and use verified legal consultants.

Final Words from Peller: “I’m Not Keeping Quiet”

Peller ended his viral video with an emotional plea to his followers and fellow celebrities:

“If this can happen to someone close to me, it can happen to anyone. I won’t shut up. We must expose these criminals and protect others.”

He has also promised to host a live session to discuss real estate fraud and how fans can invest wisely without getting scammed.

Conclusion

The real estate scam shared by TikToker Peller is a serious reminder that not everything that glitters is gold. As Nigerians hustle to build a better life, they must stay alert, verify every deal, and speak out when something seems wrong.
