Any Woman Who Can’t Find a Husband by 35 Should Get Pregnant for Any Man to Have a Child — Mogaji

“Any Woman Who Can’t Find a Husband by 35 Should Get Pregnant for Any Man to Have a Child” – Says Mogaji

A Nigerian social commentator, known as Mogaji, has sparked major debate online after making a controversial statement about women, marriage, and motherhood. In a recent interview, Mogaji said that “any woman who cannot find a husband by the age of 35 should get pregnant for any man, just to have a child.”

This statement has gone viral and has divided opinions across social media platforms. While some people agree with his point of view, many others believe his advice is harmful and unfair to women.

What Did Mogaji Actually Say?

During an interview shared on a popular podcast, Mogaji claimed that women are wasting time waiting for “Mr. Right” and could end up regretting it later in life.

“If by 35, you haven’t found a husband, don’t waste more time. Get pregnant. Find a man, any man, and have a child. You can raise the child alone. Time is not on your side,” he said.

He further explained that many women regret not having children early and later struggle with fertility issues or loneliness.

“Many women are looking for a perfect man, and they miss their chance. At least have a child you can call your own,” Mogaji added.

Reactions from Nigerians

Mogaji’s statement has received mixed reactions. Some Nigerians believe he is saying the truth, especially when considering the societal pressure women face and the biological clock that limits fertility.

One Facebook user wrote:

“He is saying the bitter truth. Women should stop wasting time. Having a child is more important than chasing wedding rings.”

Another Twitter user disagreed strongly, saying:

“This advice is irresponsible. Why should a woman just go and get pregnant by any man? What about the child’s future? What about single motherhood struggles?”

Women’s rights groups have also condemned the statement. A representative from the “Women First Nigeria” group said:

“This is a harmful message. It puts unfair pressure on women and encourages fatherless homes. Every woman has the right to choose when and how to become a mother.”

Understanding the Pressure on Women

In Nigeria, and many parts of the world, there is huge pressure on women to get married and have children at a young age. Once a woman crosses 30 and is not married, she is often labeled “too old” or “unlucky.”

This pressure leads many women to settle for unhappy marriages, or in some cases, take risky decisions just to meet society’s expectations.

However, experts advise that having a child is a big responsibility that should not be rushed or taken lightly.

Expert Advice

Dr. Linda Okonkwo, a Lagos-based relationship counselor, shared her thoughts:

“Motherhood is a serious journey. Women should not feel forced to get pregnant because of age. There are other options – like adoption, IVF, or co-parenting with someone they trust. But rushing to have a baby with ‘any man’ can lead to emotional, financial, and social problems.”

She also emphasized the importance of personal choice and mental readiness.

“It’s okay to want a child, but it should be your decision, not because someone said time is up.”

Final Thoughts

Mogaji’s statement has surely sparked necessary conversations around age, marriage, and motherhood in Nigerian society. While some may agree with his advice, many believe women should not be pressured into motherhood just because of their age.

Every woman’s journey is different. The most important thing is to make informed, safe, and personal choices — not decisions based on fear, shame, or societal pressure.
