Veteran Nigerian actor Dele Odule has addressed false reports about his alleged death and involvement in a child molestation case.
In a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, Odule responded to a blogger, identified as OpeOmoAjiboye, who had falsely declared him dead by sharing his picture with the caption “RIP.”
“There’s nothing wrong with me; I am very much alive,” Odule affirmed. “I don’t understand why anyone would wish me dead. This is barbaric, unfair, and completely uncalled for.”
The actor also dismissed another fabricated story that claimed he had been arrested for child molestation, accompanied by a doctored image of him in handcuffs.
“For what? What is your problem? Are you alright? Don’t try to bring me down,” he said. “If you come at me, you’re challenging God because this fight is not against me but against Him.”
Odule expressed deep gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support. “I love you all. Thank you for always being there and for your concern about my well-being. I truly appreciate it. God bless you.”
Fellow actors, including Kunle Afod and Opeyemi Aiyeola, have shown their support, assuring him that no harm will come to him.
A respected figure in the Yoruba film industry for over three decades, Dele Odule is known for his roles in Abeni (1996), Sango (1997), and Kí lo níí jẹ́ (2000). He has also featured in recent films like The Mystic River (2021), Ada Omo Daddy (2023), The New Patriots (2020), and Seven Doors (2024).
